moblog.uva.ne.jp is an experimental moblogging ASP for Movable Type users, since Apr/2003 by me. You can do moblog via email through my site.
As a closed trial, I added a feature related location. When you post an image with GPS location data (EXIF format), moblog.uva.ne.jp identify the data and adds a link to MAP service. See my moblogging entry. In Japan, many cell phones have the feature of GPS so using location data will be more important for weblogging/moblogging.
I've bought new servers for my home network, uva.jp. My server serves some weblog-related services, moblog and ping site in Japan so I needed more powerful machine. Old servers were purchased in 1998-9, just celeron 300MHz. New servers are very powerful, and having x10 bogomips scores! (I know well the number is not correct for measuring server performance...)
Anyway, now I get some resources to create something new. ;-)
I've updated ping.bloggers.jp, one of ping sites like weblogs.com and blo.gs, especially focused in Japan and handled UTF-8 and local Japanese codings.
At this time, I've added rankings by ping numbers and basic site stats information.
ping.bloggers.jp supports changes.xml and now crewled by Technorati, BlogPeople.net and bulkfeed.
Using the changes.xml, you can get the update ping information of Japanese weblog sites.
Enjoy!
When I configure my weblog of TypePad, I made a mistake... I've deleted my this weblog instead of another. Umm. I had only 3 entries in this weblog but sorry for deleting comment.
Deleting weblog is very easy in TypePad, too...
